Every morning heart patients have to swallow half the contents of a chemist's shop. In themselves all of the drugs make sense, it is just as a cocktail that they seem ridiculous.
Beta blockers and ACE inhibitors stop the heart being under too much strain.
Statins kill cholesterol.
Warfarin or aspirin stop the killer bloodclots.
Nitrates are like Tunes, they help you breathe more easily.
I also carry nitroglycerin around with me to frighten off angina!
